Poetic Musings After Reading 1 Corinthians 13:8 (Poem)

On our one great hilltop
Easy viewing for us all
A graying marble structure rests
Its brittle bones still tall

One side slightly sagged,
An arm heavy on its knee
Its breathing slowed and shallow
Like a dying man’s would be

Its halls are filled with knowings
Outdated, stale truths
Scientific contributions and
Academic views

Each one right until revoked
Each one bested in the end
Painted over with new coats
Each one born already dead
